Riki Bryan's performance "Movement as Medicine" during Ontopo's Tulum retreat drew on Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians" to create an embodied exploration of movement and rhythm. The sequence began with diaphragmatic breathing and progressed into a series of dynamic stretches, mobility movements, and Hindu-based calisthenics. With each chord of Reich's composition, participants moved fluidly, embodying the repetitive and meditative qualities of the music. The accompanying image captures Bryan mid-motion, with focus and strength visible as he engaged in one of the dynamic sequences of the workshop.
