Hanny Ahern is a multimedia artist whose work focuses on capturing and reimagining everyday symbols and experiences. With a "media-agnostic" approach, Ahern uses video, site-specific installations, and mixed media to challenge symbolic systems and invite new perspectives. A graduate of Bennington College and NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, Ahern is also an educator and activist, having founded Stream Gallery in Brooklyn and POWRPLNT, a youth tech center. Her installations often combine humor, surrealism, and cultural commentary, encouraging viewers to engage critically with familiar imagery and narratives.
