Helga Fassonaki

Helga Fassonaki is a Los Angeles visual and sound artist. Her work attempts to direct our attention to the present moment and understand ourselves, our surrounding landscapes and our situations, simple or complex, by understanding the relation of one to the other.  She recently launched untune, an artist-run dwelling, social-curatorial project space, and intimate engaging platform, with the aim to provide a place for collaboration and deconstruction of past ideas into present experience.

Helga Fassonaki’s discography includes her recent release "Head" on Drawing Room Records, as well as her collaborative work with Metal Rouge. Notably, Metal Rouge's album "Three for Malachi Ritscher" was featured in the Public Collector’s exhibit at the 2014 Whitney Biennial and Chicago’s Experimental Sound Studio’s Audible gallery. Upcoming is a chapbook and cassette release for her project "Khal" through Drawing Room Records. Fassonaki received her MFA from Elam School of Fine Art, University of Auckland, and has exhibited sound and installation works both nationally and internationally.
